Thomas J. Covino
West Pawlet, VT – Thomas J. Covino, passed away suddenly on February 8, 2018 at home.
Thomas was born in Granville on December 15, 1942, the son of the late James and Hazel (Ross) Covino of Pawlet, VT.
Tom was a well-known, hardworking local businessman, graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and proud veteran, having served as a Captain in the United States Air Force.
He was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Granville, where he served as an altar-boy and usher for many years, and a dedicated, lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus Council 343 in which he served as Grand Knight. His commitment to service reflected the Knight's call to action – "Leadership based on Charity, Unity and Fraternity."
In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by his brother Vincent E. Covino and sister Joan M. Bryan. He is survived by his nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 1PM on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Robert M King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville, NY. At the conclusion of the service friend may call until 4 PM. He will be laid to rest in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Middle Granville at a later date.
