Dora E. Mallory Middle Granville, NY – Dora Elaine Mallory, age 58, passed away on February 15, 2017 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Dora was born on August 13, 1958 in Rutland, Vermont the daughter of Arthur Stone, Sr. and Esther (VanGuilder) Andrews. Dora married her husband Richard on June 12, 1993. Dora worked for many years at Hick's Orchard, a job she loved. She loved working in the new dwarfs' section of the orchard, but she especially loved the Top of the Hill section. Orchard owner Dan Wilson honored Dora by naming that section of the orchard, "Dora's Crest" and denoted it with a sign. She also worked as a chamber maid in Lake George and in the slate quarries for Mike and Ray Tatko. She enjoyed watching NASCAR with her family. She was a Tony Stewart fan. Dora was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She loved spending time with her family. In 2015, Dora was able to fulfill her dream of riding in a hot air balloon. She was predeceased by her father Arthur, her siblings Barbra Hilder, Charlotte Stone, Clarence "Mona" Stone Sr., John, Gary and Ray Crum and her grandparents. She is survived by her mother Esther Andrews (Lennie). Dora is survived by her husband Richard Mallory, Jr. and her children Jacob Mallory (Amanda), Clara LaPoint (Tim) and Taylor Mallory (Sierra). She was blessed with four grandchildren: Madison and Troy Mallory, Chaise LaPoint and Ryan Smith. She also leaves behind her siblings: Art, Arthur "Pudgy" and Dickie Stone, Dale and Scott Crum, Gerry Winchell, Lyman Andrews, Karen York, Ellen Cardinal, Pam Rodriguez, Norma Smith, Linda Cram and Gloria McKeighan. In addition, she is survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and in-laws. Also, feeling the loss of Dora's passing is a special woman who was always there for her, Janice Paddock Rivers. Dora was a God mother to six children. She held a special place in her heart for her "adoptive" kids and granddaughter: Kaylee, Kody, Ethan, RJ, Quinn and Adelei. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 4 PM at the Robert M King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville with the PJ Holcomb leading the service. Friends may call from 2- 4 PM at the funeral home. There will be a continued celebration of Dora's life at a gathering following the service. The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Pillimer at the C. R. Wood Cancer Center and to Melody and Brenda from Fort Hudson for all the care they gave Dora. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the C. R. Wood Cancer Center, 100 Park St. Glens Falls, NY 12801.
