Obituary of Robert J. Minogue

Robert J. Minogue Queensbury/Granville, NY – Robert J. Minogue, age 53, died unexpectedly on April 8, 2017. Rob was born on January 16, 1964 in Granville, New York the son of John M. and Charlotte (Monette) Minogue, Sr. He was a 1982 graduate of Granville High School and a 1987 graduate of St. Michael's College in Colchester, Vermont. Rob began a lifelong career with Minogue's Beverage Center upon graduating from college and ultimately became the Vice President. Family was of the utmost importance to Rob. During the last couple years, he lived with his Mom and was a loving companion and caregiver. Rob was extremely devoted to his Catholic faith. He was a parishioner at St. Mary's Church in Granville and while living in Queensbury he attended Our Lady of Annunciation. While at St. Michael's he was actively involved in the building of a youth center in Selma, Alabama. During the project, he learned carpentry and woodworking skills, which he used in completing much of the finish work in his own home. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Rob was predeceased by his father Jack, his paternal grandparents: Michael T. and Mary (Reil) Minogue, maternal grandparents: Hubert H. and Charlotte (Myers) Monette, a brother-in-law James P. Carli, and infant nephew James Carli, and his beloved dog Bo. Survivors are his mother Charlotte of Granville, his brother John M. Minogue, Jr. (Theresa) of Saratoga Springs, and three sisters: Charlotte A. Minogue of Glenville, Charlene M. Carli of Saratoga Springs, and Colleen M. Hicks (Clark) of Granville. He was blessed with six nephews and three nieces. Rob is also survived by a dear friend and neighbor, Paul. They shared a special bond. Rob was very helpful doing chores around the house for Paul, and gave extra assistance when Paul's wife was ill. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 23 Bulkley Ave., Granville, New York on Wednesday at 1 PM with the Rev. Joseph Arockiasamy presiding. Friends may call from 11 AM until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be private at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Middle Granville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church in memory of Rob.
