Obituary of Teresa Elizabeth Bogart

Please share a memory of Teresa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On the evening of Monday March 6th, one day after her 90th birthday, Teresa Elizabeth Bogart finished her work here and died peacefully in the arms of her daughter and surrounded by loved ones, moving on to be with her dear family and friends who have been waiting patiently for her. Teresa was born the youngest child of Elizabeth Teresa Steber Hlubina and John Hlubina on March 5th 1927, on the family farm in East Wells, Vermont. Her childhood was just the starting point for a life of hard work. Yet not without fun, mischief and love. She loved her schooling in a one room school house, and adored her teachers, classmates and older siblings. Always speaking with great glee about plays and festivals, little pranks, and tuna noodle wiggle a favorite hot lunch. She was proud of her Austrian Hungarian Sloviakian roots, and could speak fluently to her parents and their friends. Teresa moved to Granville (the city) in her early 20's. She had worked on the family farm, cleaning houses and babysitting along with her sisters through their school years. She worked at many of the industries of Granville, the glove factory and the lingerie factory. She was an expert seamstress, making children's clothing, which she continued to make at home for her nieces and daughter. Teresa was also an excellent cook who's continuous battle cry was, " I hope I made enough", never did she run out of food. Her cooking skills extended to baking cakes and cupcakes especially. She enjoyed her baking time even more when her daughter was older and they worked on decorating cakes together. Anyone who knew her also knew she had an uncommon love of coffee, it was a pleasure and comfort she always treasured. She enjoyed working for Russ and Marion Flowers at the Pine Grove for many years. But she will be best remembered for her and her husband's business, Bogarts Trucking. It started with Bill Bogart trying to get her attention when she was walking home from work, and he ran his truck onto the sidewalk behind her, every day for a week till she consented to a date. After a long courtship they were married on June 27th 1952. For thirty-one years they worked together. Though she worked on the truck with Bill in later years, she carried on the business with the help of their only employee and faithful friend Richard "Dick" Braymer, after Bills passing. She is best remembered as the hardest working woman in Granville, jumping up and down off that truck. Lifting up heavy refuse barrels and cans, and herself weighing only 110 lbs. She seemed to have boundless energy and could not sit still. Even when resting she was planning her next project. She loved flowers and gardening and even after giving up lawn mowing to her beloved nephew Gene Bogart, would follow him around backseat mowing. She loved people watching and visiting as she started to slow down in her 80's, and enjoyed her family and her cats Fluffy 1-4. On the rare occasions she did sit and enjoy Her favorite shows "Keeping up Appearances" and "The Property Brothers". Gone with the Wind was her and her daughter's favorite movie, and they viewed it many times throughout the years together. She loved sweets, especially cake and candy as did all of her sisters. One of her favorite pastimes until her last days was looking at family photos with her daughter and with her family. Teresa is predeceased by her husband William D. Bogart, her brother John Hlubina (Arlene), sisters, Anna Hlubina Moyer (Ernest), Mary Hlubina Fijal (Stanley), Rose Hlubina Stritch (Paul), Katherine Hlubina Moyer (Harold) an infant sister Mary and young brother Andrew.
