Obituary of Doris Ann Rozell

Please share a memory of Doris to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Doris Ann Rozell Middle Granville, NY - Doris Ann Rozell, passed away on January 26, 2018 at Slate Valley Center with her husband by her side. Doris was born on October 31, 1943 in Massachusetts the daughter of the late Nicholas and Dorothy (Fillioe) Monaco. Great family memories were made every weekend in the summer with family camping trips. Doris enjoyed television shows. She loved the telephone. Loneliness could be kept at bay because she could call her children, friends and family whenever and however much she wanted. It was never far from her hand. In the last few years her ability to get around was decreased due to oxygen use, but prior to that she and Clarence liked to go to lawn sales. She loved her old-time country music or 50's rock. She will be remembered as "favorite Aunt Doris" to her many nieces and nephews. While Doris was opinionated, and possessed a wrath one didn't want to incur, she had a heart of gold. She was willing to help someone she felt was in need, whether she had the extra to give or not. The family was looking forward to celebrating their 56th wedding anniversary on March 22nd. Not that it is necessarily an ideal situation, but Doris and Clarence were both sharing a room at the Slate Valley Center when Doris passed. Doris was predeceased by a daughter Brenda Rozell (twin to Bruce) and a sister Shirley Ann Monaco. Survivors are her husband Clarence and her children Bruce Rozell (Amy) and Missi Harwood (Dusty) of W. Hebron. Doris was blessed with 8 grandchildren: Brenda Lynn Potter (Mike), Joey Rozell, Keith Goodspeed, Tori Morehouse, Arora Rivers-Rozell, Brianna Ballew, Paige Ballew, and Jesse Eaton, Jr. and two great grandchildren: Maxwell Smith and Spencer Hoag. She is also survived by her siblings: Mary Valentine, Irene King, Henry Monaco, Nicholas Monaco, Lenny Monaco, Barb King, Vickie Snyde, Gordon Martindale and Thomas Martindale as well as many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 5 PM on January 30, 2018 at the Robert M King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville, NY. Friend may call from 3 pm until the time of the service.
