My George,
I don’t know what to say. I have no words to express the love I have for George and the pain I have with the loss of Georgie. We grew up together. He wasn’t my uncle, he was my brother, our brother. There are no words to express how special George was.
My sweet George. My heart, oh how my heart aches thinking about you gone. I loved you, I love you. I will always love you.
George and I connected through music. All of our dance parties, singing sessions, marching bands…All of our sits by the water throwing stones to watch them splash. Every time he asked for one more I secretly gave him 5 more to throw just so we could have a little bit more time together. Our “roadtrips” to the store, baseball games, and pies in the face. I wish I could freeze those moments and live in them forever because in those moments you were safe.
George is the reason I teach music with empathy and advocacy for all students. He’s the reason I use sign language in my classroom, he’s the reason I teach music through healing because I saw the way music healed him and he healed me through the music we made together.
George is the reason I am kind. His love was gentle, his love was innocent. He was innocent. His smile melted your heart, his dance moves made you giggle. It was a gift to be loved by George. You were so loved, and so cherished by all who taught you, by all you met you.
I hope you are dancing, I hope you are happy, I hope you are finally safe and free. I will miss you forever, I can’t wait to hug you again in heaven. I love you Georgie. I will never stop showing and sharing my love for you.
