Hebron - Virginia "Gin" M. Beattie, age 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Feburary 12, 2025.
Gin was born on April 14, 1932 in Rupert, VT the daughter of Thomas E. and CasieBelle (Hazleton) Beebe.
She loved spending time with her sisters while growing up. They especially liked to attend square dances whenever possible. Once they became adults with lives of their own, Gin would travel to visit them out of state or where ever they lived. Something she did even in her later years.
Gin married Roy Cook and had a family of 5 children. Her second husband was Karl H. Beattie, and they had 3 children.
She was a hard worker her entire life. Not only did she raise 8 children but always had a full time job, until finally retiring from Manchester Wood.
She was well liked by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was a wonderful mother and loved all of her children with her whole heart. She will be remembered as a friend and coworker to many as well.
She is predeceased by her parents, sibilings, both of her ex husbands, her oldest son Lanceton Cook and his wife Judith and a grandson. Gin is survived by seven children, Michael Cook, Mark Cook, David Beattie, Jenny Wilday, Mary Gebo, June Burch and Tina Beattie. She was blessed with 22 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.
At Virginia's request there will be no vistation, celebration of life or funeral service.
