Florie R. Riegert, age 93 (believe it or not) passed away on March 11, 2025.

Flo was born September 8, 1931 in Hicksville, NY the daughter of Frank and Rose (Brincil) Gromus.

For many years Flo worked as a corporate secretary at the Jamaica Water Department.

She met and married Frank Riegert. They shared 48 wonderfully blissful years. They were an amazing couple. Frank was very proud of his trophy wife, and Flo was the proverbial trophy wife. Beautiful, well groomed, fun, great sense of humor and a good friend to many. One of her favorite pastimes was shopping. She and Frank built a beautiful home on the banks of the Mettawee River in Granville. Between pool time, and garden time her days were full. She also enjoyed feeding and observing the hummingbirds.

They were always happy to attend a gathering and were the life of the party. Together they traveled all but 7 of the United States. They did this in a pick-up with a mounted camper.The camper also served as a summer beach retreat when visiting many of the friends throughout the year.

Flo also had an affection for Hallmark movies, because bottom line it is always nice when good and wholesome prevails.

She was predeceased by her parents and a brother Frank "Honey" Gromus (Olga), a sister Ruth Warren (Oliver) and their children Donald, Oliver. Flo is survived by her broken hearted husband Frank and her children John W. Hirsch (Gina) of Punta Gorda, FL , a granddaughter Brooke, Flo's daughter Laura Bove (Robert) of Levittown. She is also survived by a brother Edward and his wife Marion and a niece Carol,

Friends may call on Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 6-8 PM at the Robert M King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville, NY. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 11 AM at the funeral home.

Following the funeral a light luncheon will be served at Granville Legion Post 383, 10 Columbus Street.
