Obituary of Raymond T. Evans

Raymond Thomas Evans, Sr. passed away at Albany Medical Center on March 13, 2025 following a long fight with many issues, with his loving family by his side. He was born on February 13, 1959 in Granville, the son of the late Edward and Henrietta (Bates) Evans. Ray was an avid WWF and NASCAR fan. He loved and appreciated antiques, and classic cars. He was a 1977 graduate of Granville Central School. He met his wife through their mutual love of music at NEACWE in 1983. In addition to his parents, Ray was predeceased by his brother Ed Jr., sisters Darlene "Lisa" Evans, Joan Moore, and Cindy Hrabar, nephews John John Hodgdon Jr., Clifford Stewart Jr and a niece Christina Stewart and his father-n-law Don O'Dell Sr. Survivors are his beloved wife Cathy, son Raymond Jr and daughter Catherine. He was blessed with two grandsons whom he loved and adored ,Colvyn and Conner Mears. Ray is also survived by his sisters Norma Weeden, Donna Stewart(Billy), Dorothy Colburn (Sam). Also his brother-in-laws Wayne Moore and Bruce Hrabar, a nephew Mark "Peach" who was a great friend along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and an aunt. His extended family includes his mother-in-law Lilley O'Dell, 3 sister-in-laws Mary, Cindy and Donna, a brother-in-law Don. He was also predeceased by his feline friend, Melody Music, whom he loved so much. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to his niece Amanda who helped the family through the month long stay at Albany Med and helped them with all the details and intervention with the hospital, helping them make some sense of all that was going on and the all important final trip on March 13th to say their goodbyes. Friends may call from 5-7 pm on Thursday, March 20th at the Robert M King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville, NY. A graveside funeral will be held in the spring.
