Obituary of Harold William Martindale

Harold William Martindale passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025. Harold was born in Rutland Vt, the son of Jessie (Baker) and Roy Martindale. Harold married his wife Ruth of 76 years on August 10, 1946. He worked as a logger and owned and operated the Martindale Harness Shop where he worked with Ruth for many years. He loved fishing, horses, his dogs and traveling to Amish auctions in Pennsylvania and Ohio. And he loved his large family. He was quite the prankster and especially kept his grandchildren on their toes. In addition to his wife Ruth, Harold was predeceased by his son David, his parents Roy and Jessie Martindale, brothers Charles (Honey) William (Bill), Frank, his twin Howard (Robin), John (Johnny) and his sisters Betty (Mer) Vance and Edna Kelly. He is survived by his sons Gerald, Donald (Frances), Raymond (Michelle), daughters Judy Groesback, Linda Wade (Phil), Mary Ann Marchaland (Andrew), Sherrie Sizemore, Charlene Martindale (Jeff) and Laurie Mattison (Ben). He was blessed with many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025 from 2 – 4 pm at the Robert M. King Funeral Home, 23 Church St. Granville, NY. Burial will be held at a later date.
