Obituary of Laurel Anne Losee

Laurel A "Waite" Losee Salem, NY. Laurie, a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, loving sister and friend passed away peacefully on Monday, May 5th, 2025 surrounded by her family at the age of 68. She was born in Granville, NY on November 14, 1956 and resided in Salem, NY for the majority of her life. Laurie was a highly respected Registered Nurse; beginning her lifelong career at Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge, NY where she met and developed eternal friendships. Upon the closing of the hospital Laurie continued her career at various facilities ending with an extremely well deserved retirement from Great Meadow Correctional Facility in 2021. Laurie looked forward to her vacations with family and friends that typically led her to the ocean. If there was ever a free moment she filled it with cooking for the village of friends and family that was always around. Laurie enjoyed sewing, watching Sunday football with family, taking her side by side on rides, watching the birds visit the porch and playing with her grandchildren whom she loved and adored wholeheartedly. Laurie was predeceased by her husband Steve Losee, her father in law Calvin Losee and her father Raymond Waite. Left to cherish her legacy she leaves behind her surplus of children and grandchildren; Jason (Nicole) Osterhaudt, Amy Osterhaudt, Howard "Ben" Osterhaudt, Marcy (Scott) Osterhaudt, Naomi (Evan) Jarvis, David (Shirley) Cary, Stephanie (Doug) Mattison, Bob Jarvis. Chase (Emma), Hayden, Madison, Grace, Max, Skyler, Willow, Madelyn, Calvin, Cadence, Bodhi, Sam, Nash, Tabitha and Kellie. As well as her Mother Anne, brothers David and Darrin and sister Lynda. Many loved nieces and nephews and very special friends that were like family to her. A very special thanks to the ICU team at Saratoga Hospital for providing the level of comfort and care that allowed our Mom to finally be at peace. Laurie's legacy will live on through the love and wisdom she passed on to her family and friends. Services are scheduled for 11am on Tuesday May 13, 2025 at Salem United Methodist Church on West Broadway with Reverend Bessie.
