RALPH ARTHUR KRUEGER
PIPE ORGAN RESTORATIONS
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming
--WOW –What a ride!!!"
Ralph Krueger died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 14, 2025.
Ralph was born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 14, 1952. The son of Daniel and Florence (Myer) Krueger.
He graduated from Granville High School and spent the rest of his life serving his community.
Ralph's passion was repairing, restoring, and installing pipe organs so others could enjoy their glorious music. He renovated an old barn south of Granville into his home and a B&B which was named The Organ Barn to highlight the restored pipe organ he installed in the grand ballroom. Many weddings, events, and local organizations were hosted there.
Ralph acquired an 1887 pipe organ from a church in Rome, NY and painstakingly rebuilt it to install in the South Granville Congregational Church as a labor of love.
He was known for helping others in need and was instrumental in starting the Christmas lighting program in Granville that we all enjoy, using his own funds to have light pole hangers made and purchase many of the original decorations. Ralph loved his retired racing greyhounds, adopting and giving each a pampered life. He was active with many community organizations from the Boy Scouts, President of Granville Chamber of Commerce, and Border Riders Snowmobile Club.
He enjoyed vintage cars, snowmobiling, motorcycling, camping, and cooking. He operated the Pine Grove Diner for 15 years, then opened The Chocolate Moose, where he delighted in making various hand dipped chocolates and sweet treats.
After retiring, Ralph enjoyed ocean cruises and traveled extensively throughout the world.
Ralph is survived by his brother, Dan Krueger and wife Cindy, a sister Peggy Galloup, his partner John Fulmer, and nephews Daniel III, Charles, and Levi.
A memorial service and life celebration will be held Saturday, October 18th at South Granville Congregational Church. Further details and time will be announced. A private graveside service will be held at the Oakwood Cemetery (behind the church) at the family's convenience.
Donations and memorials in Ralph's honor may be made to the South Granville Congregational Church restoration program, P.O.Box 225, Granville, NY 12832
