Cynthia Augusta Vanderminden, known to all as Cyndi, passed away peacefully and entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Glens Falls Hospital, after a brief illness. She was born on August 1, 1962, in Granville, New York, the daughter of the late Henry J.W. Vanderminden III and Marie C. Vanderminden.
A 1980 graduate of Granville Central High School, Cyndi went on to earn her degree in Computer Science from Rochester Institute of Technology.
Cyndi's career as a computer programmer began upon her graduation from RIT, working first with IBM Robotics in Boca Raton and later with Sun Microsystems in Billerica, Massachusetts. She eventually returned to the Glens Falls area, where she raised her family. There, her zest for life flourished, as she never allowed her physcial challenges to define her reality or limit her dreams.
A gifted artist, Cyndi expressed herself through both painting and poetry. Her artwork brought to life the world she could not fully experience, surrounding her with beauty and grace. Her poetry, often written under the name Augusta Brown, carried a voice of yearning and depth. One of her lines reads: "You call me, I respond. Everything from within me yearns for way beyound."
Cyndi was predeceased by her father, Henry J.W. Vanderminden III. She is survived by her mother Marie C. Vanderminden of Granville, N.Y., her two beloved children Patrick Daley of Salem, N.Y.; and Brianna A. Daley of Ballston Spa, N.Y; and her cherished grandsons, Aldous P. Daley and Maddox Ronin Daley, both of Salem, N.Y. She will be missed by her brothers Henry J.W. Vanderminden IV (Christina) of Glens Falls, NY., Arthur A. Vanderminden (Melissa) of Bedford, N.H., and Charles C. Vanderminden (Jennifer) of Wells, VT.;. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Those who knew Cyndi will remember her radiant smile and laughter that was as irresistible as it was contagious. She was never one to complain, instead choosing to focus on joy, creativity, and the people she loved most. Her life was a testament to resilience, faith, and the beauty of a spirit unbound by circumstance.
