Ronald L. Woods of Truthville, NY passed away December 27, 2025, at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Ron was born on March 10, 1945, in Rutland, VT to Nelson and Helen (Baptie) Woods, along with his twin brother, Donald F. Woods. Ron was a graduate of Granville Central School in 1962.
Ron's mother was born in Scotland, and he was very proud of his Scottish heritage, and he loved to tell stories that his mom shared with her family.
Ron married Shirley Case on June 20, 1964, and his second wife, Bernadette Rathbun, on May 29, 1977.
Ron was a former member of the North Granville Snowmobile Club, North Granville Fire Co. and a member of the Truthville Baptist Church.
In his spare time, Ron was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors, and his camping trips. He loved to take his son and grandsons out in the woods and teach them his knowledge of the woods and hunting. Anyone who knew Ron knew he would share his hunting stories with anyone who would listen.
Ron had a great sense of humor and a quick wit. He certainly had a unique way of getting a point across by using his own little sayings. If he asked, "did I tell you about", you were going to hear it again, or he was going to "make a long story short."
The annual family vacations to Maine were a highlight for him. When he was finally convinced to go to Tennessee he just fell in love with The Smokey Mountains. He always wished he could go back someday and see Dolly Parton.
Ron grew up in Hampton, NY working for Walt Perry's farm. He also worked at Maplewood Dairy, GE, Bardin's Service Station, and Norton Company. Ron ultimately decided to put his craft and passion to work and opened his own business as a General Contractor in the Granville area until retirement.

Douglas Hentz, Roy Rathbun, Leonard Rathbun, Howard Fountaine, and sisters-in-law, Phyllis Duel, Sylvia Fountaine and Dorothy Rathbun.
Ron was survived by his wife of 48 years, Bernadette (Rathbun) Woods, his daughters with Shirley, Natalie Woods Babcock (Nick) of Queen Creek, AZ; Tracy Thomas (John, Sr) of Hampton, NY. His son with
Bernadette, Ashley Woods (Rhonda) of Granville, NY. His grandsons, John Jr. (Emily) Thomas of West Hebron, NY; Nathan Thomas (Jordan) of Hebron, NY and Lucas Woods of Granville, NY.
