Christopher S. Ettori, age 50, of Hampton, NY passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 10, 2026.
He was born on October 7, 1975 in Rutland, Vermont to Ronald and Stella (Butler) Ettori.
Chris graduated from Granville Junior- Senior High School in1993. He loved playing baseball and was an excellent pitcher. At age 12, he was the pitcher for Tatko team and led them to become the Granville Little League Champs (6-0). At age 15, Chris brought the Lions team to victory in the Washington County League which was won against the Granville Bank team. This was the first time two Granville teams competed for the Washington County League championship. He also pitched as an All-Star at East Field. One of the highlights was in 1993 as Rutland County Youth League Sr Western Div. Champs with 11 wins – 3 losses. He was also very good at bowling and was a 1992 Glens Falls Area Travelling League 93 Co-Champion.
Chris married the love of his life, Christine A. Bishop at St. Raphaels Parish in Poultney, VT on May 24, 1997. Brianna was born in late November that year and Jarrett in September of 1999. They were the most precious gifts he ever could have received. He was so incredibly proud of both of them and loved them with all of his heart.
Chris was an exceptional human being in so many ways. He started his career in the metal department at Telescope in 1994 at the age of 19. Chris' work ethic and drive were beyond words. He was passionate about learning as much as he could to advance his position in the company. Through the next 31 years he rose to heights not seen before. Holding a seat on the Telescope Board of Directors and becoming Senior President of Manufacturing in February of 2025, Chris was in a place that no one outside the Vanderminden family had ever achieved. He was incredibly humble and proud of what he had accomplished.
Chris enjoyed teaching his children life skills that he had learned, from changing oil in their cars to building decks and cabins. He was proud to "bestow upon them his greatness." His ability to fix anything was impressive. If he didn't know how, he researched it until he mastered it. He never gave up. The most recent project and one of his proudest accomplishments was learning about solar power and installing units at the camp he built and at home. He was excited to tell his family all about it and although they listened intently, they had no idea what he was talking about.
Chris was the "go to" for everyone, which he loved. He was always wanting to help, whether he knew you or not. Kindness was another of his many great characteristics. He will be remembered for giving the best gifts to his loved ones (and to himself – because he deserved them).
From the latest and greatest iPhone and newest vehicles to the many motorcycles, boats, campers, atvs, tractors, scooters and so much more, Chris had mastered the art of negotiation. Whether a marketplace deal - generators and trailers were marketplace gold to him - or at the dealership he always got what he wanted for the price he wanted. His drive and work ethic made all of these things possible, and he loved sharing them with his family.
Not one to sit idly, "Mr. Impatient" thoroughly enjoyed being outside either "dubbing" in the garage, mowing the lawn or spending time at "The Shire" (the camp he built). Wherever he was, he was always on his phone looking for the next deal or project to learn.
In his youth he enjoyed riding his four-wheeler, fishing and playing baseball. Working on the Don Mattison #10 dirt modified team and attending and coaching his children's sports practices and games were the highlight of many years. Granville Little League held a very special place for him. In the more recent years, he enjoyed riding one of his many motorcycles, especially with his family, "The Red Ogres", camping in his RV, playing Diablo and other video games, spending time on his boat on Lake Bomoseen and listening to music. Chris loved a variety of music, always playing it in the garage and blasting it in the truck. Stained, Aaron Lewis and Def Leppard were at the top of his playlists, you did not change it when these bands came on. It was always a game to name the band before his wife could. He enjoyed going to concerts with family and friends. Chris was an avid and enthusiastic Buffalo Bills fan since his early years. He enjoyed watching InkMaster and recently began getting tattoos of his own, each with their own special meaning. He loved to have fun and was compelled to give some sort of nickname to everyone he met.
Chris travelled frequently for work and with his family, although he hated cities and flying. He had been to Japan, Italy, Hawaii, California, and more and he loved going to Disney. Although his son lived in Boston, he would still make the trip to city to see his good buddy (and would drive anywhere within 3 hours to get a good deal on a new or used toy).
Chris had a true love for his country and an admirable respect for the military. He also loved his community and the Lighted Tractor Parade became one of his favorite annual events.
Chris joins his grandparents, Warren and Marie Butler and Francis and Margaret Ettori, his cousins Wilbur "Butchie" Goulette and Robert "Robbie" Ettori, along with other dear family members and close friends.
He is survived by his wife, Christine and children Brianna (fiancé, Nicholas Jones) and Jarrett (fiancé, Hannah Cheneau), also by his parents Ronald Ettori (Rita) and Stella Ettori and his sister, Angela, and her children, Christine's parents, Doug & Bonnie Bishop, brother-in-law Jeremy (Jennifer) Bishop and nephew along with his large extended family and close friends.
Friends may call on Thursday, January 15, 2026 from 1-4PM and 6-8 PM at Robert M King Funeral Home 23 Church Street in Granville to remember the good times. A funeral service will be held at the Granville Baptist Church, 23 Quaker Street, Granville at 11 AM with Pastor Dan Poucher presiding.
