Alberta I. Lurvey, born October 2, 1942, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the devoted wife of Bernie Lurvey, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage.

Alberta was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Pauline Stewart; her brothers, John Stewart and Harris Stewart; her sister, Alta Mattesion; and her beloved daughter, Nuella Lurvey.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bernie Lurvey; her children Kimberly Lurvey, Kevin Lurvey, and Bernie Lurvey (wife Cheryl Lurvey). She was a cherished grandmother to Rhindy Luce, Roseanne Lahman (fiancé Dan Anthony), Mandy Ivy (husband Daniel Ivy), Kevin Dragon (wife Julie Dragon), and Jeremy Stewart.

Alberta was also a proud great-grandmother to Alexis Bucco, Lucas Bucco, Hailey Bucco, Jada Lahman, Will Anthony, Lily Ivy, Gabriella Ivy, Phoenix Dragon, and Ryleigh Stewart. She is further survived by Vicki French (husband Steve French), along with many extended family members and dear friend.

Alberta found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved playing bingo, crocheting, baking, watching NASCAR and wrestling, and listening to Elvis, country western, gospel, and rock 'n' roll music. She faithfully enjoyed her murder mystery shows and treasured long walks with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often picking out black caps together. She especially loved attending the West Pawlet Bed Races and the Pawlet Firemen's Auctions.

Alberta was a simple, loving woman who was deeply cherished by her family, friends, and the community who knew her. Her kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit will be forever remembered.

4-6 PM. A funeral service and burial will be in the spring at Mettowee Valley Cemetery in Pawlet, VT.
