Scott L. Taylor, age 57 of Granville, NY passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Glens Falls Hospital.
He was born on November 4, 1968, in Glens Falls, NY the son of Robert and Kathleen (Whalen) Taylor.
Scott loved nature and the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved watching his girls get that big kill so he could brag about it to everybody! He was a very supportive father and friend and was so proud of every accomplishment anybody close to him had made. He loved tapping trees every spring with his father. He was very passionate about karate throughout his life. He was always up for a four-wheeler or side by side ride up old Smokey! And having a cold beer with his friends. He loved grilling and backyard bonfires "LOL". Everything was funny to him, always cracking a joke and making everybody laugh. He loved working in the garden at his parents house and got excited about how it was growing. We all loved the fresh berries that he would bring home. He loved surprising his fiance Amber with adventures/trips. Sundays were dedicated to "family dinners" with all 7 kids and anybody else who wanted to show.
Scott was dedicated to his job as Highway Superintendent for the Town of Granville. He spoke so highly of his workers who he valued very much and always had a story to come home with and laugh about. He was a friend to many. He loved being everyone's "go to guy" and will be remembered as the kind of person who would "give the shirt" off his back, whether he knew you or not.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents William J. Whalen and Kathryn Rose (Taft) Whalen and his paternal grandparents Lawrence and Rachel Taylor. Survivors are his daughters Lauren, Alexis, and Paige Taylor. His fiancé Amber Dickinson and her children Walter & Kathryn Miller and Chloe and Alana Dickinson. He was blessed to be survived by his parents Robert and Kathleen Taylor and his siblings Robert (Michelle) Taylor, Larry (Brittany) Taylor, and sister Linda. In addition, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
