Tara Lynn Loomis, age 50, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 2, 2026 at her home.

Tara was born on January 17, 1976 at Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge, NY the daughter of Russell Emery

and Krista (Baldwin) Emery

She was a 1994 graduate of Granville High School. She married Charles S. Loomis who passed away in 2013.

Tara worked at many local businesses throughout her life, but found a job which she looked forward to everyday as Businesss Office Manager at the Slate Valley Center in North Granville.

During her youth ,she went with her Dad to Devils Bowl when he raced and cheered him on. She occasionally helped him out with the car. She cherished the memories of the time spent with the race car both at home and the track.

Tara was an avid reader and loved books. She was a die-hard fan of the Adirondack Thunder, cheering them on with her fiancé Chris at the Harding-Mazotti Area in Glens Falls. Tara loved everything about being a grandmother. Occasionally she and Chris combined Thunder and grandchildren time by bringing them to hockey games.

She had a fascination for covered bridges. Chris and Tara took trips throughout Vermont, pursuing her goal of seeing every covered bridge in the state. Sadly, there were 7 she didn't get to visit. She and Chris also shared a bond over car racing, Tara and Chris were frequent visitors at Lebanon Valley Speedway, as they were teenagers they watched the races and Chris held a position as pit crew on the Kenny Tremont car.

Chris and Tara had recently settled on a date for their wedding, August 10, 2026. Having known each other in their younger years, both having gone onto an adult life, but as ships sailing in the ocean, they have found each other once again. Their friendship naturally led to a relationship.

Tara was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Leslie and Evelyn (Yauger) Baldwin and paternal grandparents Bernard and Beverly (Andrews) Emery. Also by her husband Chucky Loomis.

She is survived by her fiance Christopher Lennox and his daughters Angie, Allie and Becca Lennox. Her father Bernie Emery (Mary) and mother Krista Tucker, a proud mother to Ashleigh Porter (Joe) and Patrick Loomis. She felt so very blessed to be a grandmother to Charles Cross and Maverick Loomis. Step sister to Melanie Crosier (Brian) and step brothers Kevin Buxton (Debbie), Robert Buxton (Michelle), Stephen Buxton (Carol) and David Buxton. In addtion her life was enchance by several step grandchildren, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday March 7, 2026 at 2 PM at the Robert M. King Funeral Home, 23 Church Street, Granville, NY with Rev. Arthur Peters officiating. Following the funeral a reception will be held at the Telescope showroom on Church Street.
