Sunderland, Vermont (formerly of Wells, VT)- It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Edna M. Howe, our beloved mom, grandma, sister, and spouse who departed this life on March 31, 2026, at the age of 86. Edna passed away peacefully at Albany Medical Center. Leaving behind a legacy of love, wisdom and quiet strength that will forever be remembered by all that knew her.

Edna was born on September 24, 1939 in Wells, VT, to her loving parents Charles W. & Edith G. Howe. Edna grew up with the beauty of Vermont and all that the outdoors offered to her. She had countless adventures, but she especially loved fly fishing.

Edna's life was a tapestry woven with love and devotion to her family. She is survived by her children: Cyndy (Tim) Cummings and Ron Hughes, who were the center of her world. Her grandchildren, Zachary, Thomas, Jared, Cheyenne & Cara, held a special place in her heart, and she took great pride in them and everything they accomplished. She is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren.

She found love and much happiness with her significant other Bruce Earle and embraced his family as her own. She is fondly remembered by his children Lisa Kalbfliesh and Bruce D. Earle, and her grandchildren Gregory and Jamison.

Edna is survived by her sister Thelma Estey and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, and siblings Virginia, Walter, Alice and Kay.

She possessed a gentle spirit that blossomed once she got to know you, revealing a woman of depth, intelligence and humor. She passed down values, love and sometimes patience, to her children.

Edna will be deeply missed and forever loved. Her legacy will continue through the lives she touched and the memories she created.
