Dorothy Elaine Carey (nee Warnaar) West Pawlet, Vt. – Dorothy Elaine Carey, 81, died unexpectedly and peacefully in her sleep on March 29, 2018. Wife of the late Thomas Carey, Dorothy is survived by her three children and their families. Formerly of Bloomfield New Jersey, Dorothy worked for many years as a buyer and manager of the Olympic Shop of Upper Montclair. Upon retirement in 2007 she relocated to West Pawlet where she completely restored her historic home and loved living next door to her granddaughter. She embraced her new community making many new friends and becoming an active member of several organizations. She was an avid gardener, bridge player, and volunteer. She enjoyed many artistic pursuits and will always be remembered for her creativity and independence. A memorial service in her honor will be held on Saturday, April 7th, 2018 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the Robert M. King Funeral Home, 23 Church Street, Granville, NY In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory can be made to the West Pawlet Volunteer Fire Department, 2805 Vt. Route 153, West Pawlet, Vt. 05775
