Obituary of Thomas Elmer Jones

Thomas E. Jones Middle Granville, NY – Thomas E. Jones, age 73, passed away unexpectedly at Glens Falls Hospital on Sunday, September 16, 2018. Tom was born on September 29, 1944 in Middle Granville, NY the son of the late Robert and Anne (Morehouse) Jones. Tom graduated from Granville High School. He married Kathryn Martin in 1965. Together they raised their family. He loved his family first and foremost, but life was even better when the family grew to include his beloved grandchildren. Next on his list of priorities was his passion of motorcycling. He and Kathy loved going for rides and social occasions with friends which revolved around the bike. He was a member of the Mettowee Valley Riders. They also enjoyed participating in poker runs. They shared many of these adventures with their good friend Ted Vogel. Tom enjoyed a simple life. He led a life that exemplified this for his children. They did family camping and fun picnics. He led a simple life with simple pleasures. He was an avid hunter. He and Kathy liked attending concerts and when the children got old enough, included them on these adventures. He was predeceased by his parents and a granddaughter Rachel Lily. Survivors are his wife Kathryn (Martin) Jones, his son Thomas E. Jones II (Deborah) of Clifton Park and their daughter Hailey Elizabeth and a daughter Lisa Jones of Rotterdam and her son Tyler Thomas Tibbitts. Also left to miss him is a sister Judy Dashnaw (Hank) of Gansevoort and a cousin and close friend Gina Benincasa of Long Island as nieces and nephews. Tom will be visiting rainbow bridge to greet all his former canine companions. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at 2 PM at the Mettowee Valley Cemetery in Granville.
