Obituary of Michael Scott Ferguson

Michael Scott Ferguson Granville, NY – Michael Scott Ferguson, age 51, passed away with his family by his side on April 26, 2017 at Albany Medical Center, after a courageous battle with Leukemia. Mike was born on September 6, 1965 in Granville, the son of the late Adries and Irene (Winchell) Ferguson. Mike married Ethel (Carnicle) on July 7, 1990. They celebrated 26 wonderful years of marriage. Mike was employed by the Washington County Highway Department for 17 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and trapper. He was a fanatic about his metal scrapping. Each morning, without fail, he could be found at Stewarts for his morning coffee and conversation with friends. But most of all, Mike loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, and a brother Maurice. Survivors are his wife Ethel, his son Ryan Norton (Gail), daughter Christina Kerber (Aaron) and Michael Ferguson II and his companion Brittany Vogel. He was blessed with seven grandchildren that he adored: Lacey, Cameron, Shante, Caleb, Kevin, Lauryn, and Mia. He is also survived by his siblings; Adries Ferguson, Jr. (Anna) of Granville, Bruce Ferguson (Sabrina) of Whitehall, Debbie Stone (Art) of Granville, Paul Ferguson and his companion Michelle Parker of Granville, Tina Huffer and her companion Bruce Busky of Vergennes, VT and Darrin Ferguson (April) of Whitehall, in addition to many beloved nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 11 AM at the Robert M King Funeral Home, 23 Church St. Granville with Pastor Derik Kerber of People of Praise Church officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Middle Granville. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 30 from 5 – 8 PM at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank the many dedicated professionals at Albany Medical Center Oncology Department and NYOH for their comfort and compassion. The family also wishes to thank the greater Granville community for the love and support shown to Mike and his family throughout this difficult time.
