Clarence "Punky" VanGuilder, Jr. North Granville, NY – Clarence "Punky" VanGuilder, Jr passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Punky was born on June 28, 1965 in Granville the first-born son of Clarence and Regina (Wilson) VanGuilder. Punk lived life marching to his own drummer. Being the eldest of his siblings, he was quick to point out the errors in their ways, because more often than not, he had already been there and done that. As a child and teenager, he was a handful. He challenged the rules on a regular basis. He worked in many area quarries throughout the years. He rode his bicycle to many destinations. Punky loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, and bonfires. His good friend Budweiser was frequently involved in his adventures. At least the good ones. Punk loved playing with the grandkids, nieces, and nephews. His culinary skills were a mean tomato sauce, which was used in his awesome chili, spaghetti, or any tomato-based dish. His family will never leave a house or a room without hearing him say "Shut the ---- door and turn off the light." Punk was predeceased by his father, Clarence Sr, two brothers: Timothy VanGuilder and Timothy Lee. Left to cherish his memory is his mother Regina Deere (Billy) and his five children. He cherished his visits with his daughter Paige throughout his illness. His siblings Earl of Granville, Jimmy (Jacqueline) of Gloversville, Gene (Missy) of Gloversville, Regina Johnson (Sam) of Florida, Mary of Glens Falls, Ashley of Lake Luzerne, Joey (Shauna) of Ohio and his step siblings Kevin, Leana, Heather and Bill, will all miss the fun and crazy times they had together. He was blessed with grandchildren: Aubree, Naveah, Lakota, Greyson, Kane, Ella, and Cade. He will also be missed by his best friend George. Friends may call at the Robert M King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 from 4-6 PM. A reminder that anyone entering the funeral home must wear a mask the entire time. There is a limitation on the number of callers at one time. Please be patient. Burial will be at a later date.
