Elizabeth "Betty" Close Howe Granville, NY – Elizabeth Howe, age 84, passed away on October 30, 2020 and joined the love of her life, Walter Howe. They were married on April 1, 1956, sharing 43 loving years until Walt's unexpected passing in 1999. She was born on December 19, 1935 in Granville, the daughter of Arnold and Mary (McGann) Close. Betty was employed by the Granville School System as a cafeteria aid and then later spent many years caring for children whom she loved very much. Betty enjoyed spending summers on Tinmouth Pond with her very special Aunt Elizabeth (Betty) Thomson. She loved watching her grandchildren and their sports and spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her husband, a brother Lyle Close, sister in laws Virginia Fenton, Alice Smith and Kaye Therrien and her special Aunt Elizabeth Thomson. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Bonnie Rozell (Will) and sons Ken Howe (Melanie) and Randy Howe (Sue) all of Granville. She was blessed with nine grandchildren: Melissa Brown (Scott), Kaylie Fowler (Scott), Marc and Chris Rozell, Adam Howe (Shannon), Allison Daigle (Jeff), Ashleigh Howe, Laci Howe, and Mariah Miner. Betty is also survived by her brother Robert Close (Jean) and sisters in law, Eleanor Close, Thelma Estey, Edna Howe as well as several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Her funeral will on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 where she will be laid to eternal rest with Walt.
