Karen Lee Klotz Granville, NY – Karen Lee Klotz passed away following a short illness at her home November 19, 2020 with her loving husband by her side. Karen was born in Norfolk, VA on May 29, 1963, the daughter of Richard and Marjorie (Clark) Klotz. Karen married David L. Martelle on December 23, 2004 in a beautiful wedding ceremony in North Granville, NY. She loved strolling around the street of Lake George arm and arm with her husband. Karen was a very kindhearted person who helped others in the area. She was devoted to sending out holiday cards to her many family and friends using her beautiful penmanship. Though Karen never had children of her own she enjoyed giving gifts to her nieces and nephews. She loved animals, especially her own pets. She loved spending time decorating for the holidays and making crafts. She also enjoyed her flower gardens. Karen loved her family and was fond of sharing stories about them which included her family history and genealogy. She was predeceased by her parents, an aunt and uncle whom she was particularly fond of; Rick and Joan Morey her father-in-law "Red" Martelle. Survivors are her husband David, two brothers Jeff Klotz of California and Michael Klotz (Lynn) of Lima, NY and nephews Max and Sam. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Pat Martelle and David's large family of brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 12:30 PM. A reminder that following COVID-19 19 guidelines, masks must be worn. Memorial contributions in Karen's memory may be made to the Granville Small Animal Hospital, 9928 State Route 22, Granville, NY 12832.
