Allan Joseph Giroux Granville, NY - Allan Joseph Giroux, 60, beloved husband, father, and son, unexpectedly passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021. He was born in Portland, Maine on September 22, 1960 to Donald Giroux Sr. and Arlene Parker. He was a resident of Granville, NY at the time of his passing but spent many years of his life in the State of Maine enjoying the ocean. Allan served in the military as a Marine stationed in Japan and South Korea. While serving in the military Allan discovered his passion for cooking, which was evident in his culinary skills. As a self-proclaimed chef, he loved preparing meals for his fellow Marines, his family, and his friends. He was a carpenter by trade and took pride in the pieces of furniture he created and the homes he had built, which will be enjoyed by many for years to come. Allan married Irene (White) Giroux on Nov. 25th, 1989. Wanting to be near the ocean they made the decision to raise their son Corey in Maine, making frequent trips to Granville to visit friends and family. He traveled to Hawaii to watch his son graduate, spending time enjoying the beautiful beaches and the waters surrounding the island of Oahu. Allan is survived by his "Best Friend and Soulmate", Irene Giroux of Granville, and the pride of his life, son Corey Giroux of Hawaii. He is also survived by his mother, Arlene Parker of Texas, his father, Donald Giroux Sr. of Maine, and his siblings, Donald Giroux Jr. (Donnie), Connie Trombley, Darlene Hopkins, Laurie Pacyna all of Maine, and Timothy Giroux of Texas, as well as countless aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. All who loved him dearly, will never forget his tenacity, wit, charm, undying love, and caring for everyone. He will be deeply missed. Private services were held Thursday March 11, 2021 at Kings Funeral Home, and a gathering of family and friends was hosted by Kevin and Donna Daigle. Allan's ashes were scattered in the waters off the coast of Maine. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Wounded Warrior Project 370 7th Avenue, Suite 1802, New York, New York 10001.
