Pawlet, VT – Alberta Maude Stewart, age 63 passed away on August 31, 2021, at Albany Medical Center.
Alberta was born on November 29, 1957, in Granville, NY the daughter of the late Lester and Edith (Clark) Corey.
Alberta was a 1975 graduate of Granville High School. She was a beloved wife and mother. Alberta was a beautiful person, inside and out. While in her presence you knew you were in a judgement free zone. She enjoyed spending warm summer days tending her extensive vegetable and flower gardens, especially her rose bushes. Alberta loved going for long walks, and truly missed this greatly when her health no longer allowed it. She also loved going for drives to new places and seeing all that the back roads scenery had to offer. In addition to the farm animals, she loved caring for her cats, which brought her joy. Alberta loved taking online classes. She took interior decorating and writing classes, just to name a few. Alberta enjoyed her love of photography. It was a proud moment for her when two of her photos were chosen for publication. Alberta most enjoyed spending time listening to all genres of music with her family. But no matter all else the world had to give she loved spending time with her 7 grandchildren.
Alberta was predeceased by her parents, a brother William, and an infant son Little Harris. She will be greatly missed by her beloved husband of 42 years, Harris Stewart. Her four children Laura Coleman (Paul) of Franklin, NH, Jessica Perez (Andy) of Jamaica, VT, Sean Stewart of Bristol, NH, and Heidi Stewart (Jeffrey LaRouche) of Poultney, VT will miss her forever. She was blessed with seven grandchildren: Annalisse and Cody Coleman, Grisel and Savannah Perez, Saphire, Cole and Jasmine Stewart. Alberta is survived by her siblings Susan Clark, Bonita Corey-McKeighan, and Diane Generous.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 11th, 2021, at 1PM at the Mettowee Valley Cemetery in Pawlet, VT.
