Ethel A. Miles Wells, VT – Ethel Miles, age 98, passed away at Rutland Regional Medical Center on June 13, 2022. Ethel was born on January 31, 1924, in New York, NY the daughter of Anton and Lillian Pfundstein. She was a graduate of George Washington High School. She married Edward "Pidgie" Miles in the Church of the Good Shepherd Church in New York City. She was a statistical typist and office manager for the Board of Education , Emerson, NJ. When they moved to Wells, she was a volunteer at the Wells School and in Neighbor to Neighbor. She collected dolls and enjoyed embroidery and ceramics. Ethel was the last member of her family who had lived through the Depression, World War II and the Korean War. She was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband and high school sweetheart Edward "Pidgie" Miles, sister-in-law Mary Clark, brother-in-law John Miles and a nephew William Stuart Clark III. Survivors are her nieces Ronnie Coffey and Jill Rose and a nephew Peter Clark. Ethel's family is deeply grateful for the compassionate care given to her by the excellent Granville Rescue Squad and the outstanding nursing and palliative care staff of Rutland Regional Medical Center A brief service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022, at 10:30 AM at the Robert M King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville. Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at the Wells Village Cemetery, Wells, VT. In lieu of flower, please make a donation in her memory to the charity of one's choice.
