Obituary of Bret Michael Hilliker

Bret Hilliker North Granville, NY – Bret Michael Hilliker, age 24, passed away on June 27, 2022 in an accidental drowning. Bret was born on February 25, 1998 in Glens Falls Hospital the son of Tonya Hilliker. His grandmother and grandfather Vicki and Gaylord Demers raised him in a life of love. He was a graduate of Granville High School. Though Bret faced many challenges through his cerebral palsy, he managed to enjoy life. He loved sports even with disabilities and liked miniature golf and basketball. He particularly enjoyed camping and the opportunity to fish with his grandfather. He was a fan of WWF wresting and collected wrestling figures. Patricia Parnell was a caregiver for Bret for many years. He enjoyed playing games for hours with his "aunt" Patty and jaunts together through the community. He looked forward to the occasional overnight respites at her home. Bret was predeceased by his mother Tonya and his grandmother Vickie. He is survived by his grandfather Gaylord Demers and a brother Marcus. He is also survived by his aunt and uncles Theresa Moffitt (Acey), Richard Demers (Bonnie) and Mary Santini. He was loved by more people than he even knew. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 1, 2022 at 11AM at the Truthville Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Gebo presiding. Burial will follow at Mettowee Valley Cemetery where he will be interred next to his grandmother, mother and Uncle Paul.
