Edward Hicks

Granville, NY - Edward (Ed) Arwin Hicks, 72, of Granville, NY, passed away on February 5, 2023 at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

Edward was born in Granville, NY to Martha Skelly and Willis Hicks Sr on April 1, 1950. He went to high school at Granville High School. He worked at the slate quarries in Granville, NY for many years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam war, with medals for National Defense Service, Expert M16, and Expert M14. He enjoyed music, playing cards, western tv shows, traveling, hanging on the beach, and any outdoor activities.

Edward is survived by his daughters, Donna Saddlemire and Jammie Hayes, multiple grandchildren, brother, Willis Hicks Jr, sister, Shirley Tanner, sister, Julia Crossman, sister, Veronica Carroll, several nieces and nephews, and his best friend Beatrice Craig. He is preceded in death by his mother, Martha J Skelly, father, Willis F Hicks Sr, brother, Ernest Hicks, brother, James Hicks, brother, Richard Hicks, and brother, Bruce Hicks.

Funeral service will be held at Robert M King Funeral Home on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Jerry McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in the spring at Mountain View Cemetery.
