Margaret Ruth Shannon Tucker
Wells, VT and Cobleskill, NY - Margaret Ruth Shannon Tucker, “Peggy.” of Wells, Vt. left us on Friday May 5th 2023. She passed peacefully in her sleep after a long battle with cancer.
She was born June 5th, 1940 in Mammoth .NJ to Harold William and Doris Estelle (O’Neal)Shannon who have predeceased her. She was married to Richard C Tucker Sr (predeceased) for nearly 50 years. Also predeceased by her two brothers William Harold and George Harrison Shannon. A daughter and son in law. Larry and Elizabeth Hammond.
She loved all her family very much. Survivors include her sister Susan and Donald Rundblad of Worcester, NY, children Dorothy “Sue” and Tim of Wells, Vt. , AnnMarie and Tim of Portland Me. Richard CTucker Jr “Bud” and Becky of Johnstown, NY, Warren “Jake” and Lisa of Cobleskill, NY. and her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Peggy was a very kind person who would and did help anyone. She was a wonderful self-taught cook who could have been a “chopped” champion. She was famous at the Lake St Catherine State Park for her egg mcmuffins. She owned a diner at one time and a store with a deli where she made all the food. Her favorite job was a shift charge person at ARC in Cobleskill, NY.
Friends may call on Thursday , May 11 from 2-5PM at the Robert M King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville, NY.
Burial will be at later time at the Gerald B H Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
Any donations in lieu of flowers can be made to St Jude’s or Ronald Mc Donald house.
