John R. Locke

Fort Ann, NY - John R. Locke,age 82, passed away at his home following a long illness.

John was born on May 18, 1941 in Granville, NY the son of the late Richard and Gladys (Cone) Locke.

His education began in Fort Ann for 10 years, then Granville Central Schools for 2, where he graduated in the class of 1959.

John married Mary Ann Fisher in 1970 and they celebrated 48 years of marriage untiil her passing in 2018.

John was a proud Air Force Veteran.

He spent 27 years as a Corrections officer in Comstock, NY at both Great Meadow and Washington Correctional.

John loved spending 20 plus years as a snowbird, between NY and FL.

John was predeceased by his parents, wife Mary Ann, and a son Jeffrey Alan Locke. He is survived by his brother Keith Locke (Susan) of North Granville and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation or funeral service. Burial will be in the spring at Morningside Cemetery in Hartford, NY at the convenience of the family.
