Michael K. Norton

Weymouth, MA - Michael K. Norton, age 64, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2023 following a brief illness.

Michael was born on March 1, 1959 in Granville, NY the son of John and Noreen (Casey) Norton.

He was a graduate of Granville High School Class of 1977. Throughout his school years, the three Michael's were quite the group. He, Mike Thomas and Mike Quinn were best buddies. What one didn't think of the others did.

Following graduation Michael enlisted in the Army where he served from 1977-2004. He was a very proud Army veteran. After his retirement from the Army Reserves, he loved helping other Veterans with financial and benefits planning.

When he retired he became a Union carpenter, where his sense of pride continued. He was involved in many municipal projects including the Big Dig. Michael was always the first to lend a hand to neighbors and friends, sharing his carpentry skills.

He frequently made his way back to Granville to spend time with his family and friends. He particularly enjoyed leisure, back road rides on his motorcyle, especially when they ended up at the ocean. He was a member of the "In the Wind" motorcyle club.

His weeks were highlighted with dinners out with friends. He will be missed by his Massachusetts crew.

Michael was predeceased by his parents, three brothers (Kevin, William and Thomas Norton); and a nephew, Eric Norton. Survivors are his children: Ryan and Katherine Norton, his grandchildren Lacey, Kevin, Daemon and Ava, his brothers: John David Norton (Toby) of Colorado Springs, CO; Aileen Murauskos (Victor) of Raceville, NY, Ann Schinski of Wells, VT, and Stephen Norton and his companion Rhonda of Granville along with many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 23 Bulkley Ave.,Granville, NY at 9 AM. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Middle Granville. Friends may call on Friday, December 22, 2023 from 4-7 PM at the Robert M King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville, NY.

The family wishes to express their thanks for the family and friend of Michael who helped out during his illness. He will now forever by "In the Wind".
