Walter Allen Smith Obituary

Walter A Smith passed away unexpectantly at his home in Wells on August 14, 2024.


Walter was born July 4, 1934, in Granville, NY to Milton and Maybell (Teahle) Smith.


Walter enlisted in the United States Air Force after graduating high school in 1953 and served until 1964, He then went to work for Pratt & Whitney until he retired in 1991. After retirement he moved to Wells with his wife Gwen. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bingo and going on casino trips with the Modern Woodmen.


Walter was predeceased by his wife, Gwen, his parents, a sister Pauline and a brother Milton. He is survived by his sisters Gerry Woodruff (Paul), Martha Zito, Maybell and several nieces and nephews.


A private funeral was held at the Wells Village Cemetery where he rejoined the love of his life, Gwen.
