Lynden Norman Arquette, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed unexpectedly on Wednesday, 18 September 2024. Lyn was born on May 4th, 1948, in Massena, New York to parents Howard and Eileen Arquette. He graduated from Massena High School in 1966, and then went to work at Alcoa smelting, and then went to work at General Electric where he was drafted for the Vietnam war. For his distinguished service, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and The Expert Combat Infantryman's Badge. He was a lifetime VFW member. Upon his return, he continued his career at General Electric for 38 years. Lyn was a lover of the outdoors, and an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed riding on the pontoon boat with Keith. Lyn loved to cook; his specialty was barbecue. He was known for his meticulous detail to lawncare and gardening, and as the local handyman in their neighborhood. He also loved sports, coaching little league baseball for his sons and continued coaching for many years. Over the years he enjoyed build and racing stock cars. Lyn was an avid NASCAR fan, NY Giants and Yankees, as well. He and wife Barbara enjoyed volunteering at Pleasant Valley nursing home together, for 6 years. They retired to Conway, South Carolina and spend summers back home in New York, as well as traveling together. They loved riding their bikes and going for walks. He will be remembered for his kindness. Lyn was the first in line to help anyone who needed it. Lyn is survived by Barbara, his wife of 31 years, his children Todd Arquette (Candy), Keith Daigle (Tina), Joseph Arquette (Evelyn), siblings Madeline Giles, Eugene Arquette (Chris), Virginia Allen, Mike Arquette (Pam), and grandchildren Aaron Arquette, Sarah Nestle, Joseph T. Arquette, Sean and Ryan Monahan, Damaris, Dominic, and Deangelo Coira, and many nieces and nephews and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by in-laws Larry Daigle (Linda), Dwayne Daigle (Elaine), Mike Daigle (Pam), Vicky Hale, Todd Daigle, Mark Daigle (Jean), Jay Daigle (Stacey). He was predeceased by his grandson Ryan Arquette, his brother Duane Arquette and brothers-in-law Keith Allen and Gary Daigle, and sisters-in-law Karen Campbell, and Linda Daigle. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 2 PM at the Robert M King Funeral Home, 23 Church Street, Granville, NY. Friends may call from Noon until 1:45 PM. Burial will follow the funeral at the Oakwood Cemetery in South Granville, NY where military honors will be accorded. A gathering will follow at the VFW Pavilion on North Street. A dish to pass would be great but not necessary.
