Obituary of Linda S. Ogert

Please share a memory of Linda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Linda Ogert Pawlet, VT – Linda Ogert passed away on December 8, 2017 with her family by her side. She was born on February 27, 1944 in Rutland, the daughter of Ralph and Muriel (Greene) Scally of Danby. Linda grew up on the family farm on Green Hill in Danby. She spent her days helping wherever she could. She loved being on the farm. Linda learned early how to adapt the way she did things. Despite her physical limitations, she was able to accomplish whatever she put her mind to. Linda attended school in Danby Four Corners and was a graduate of Granville High School in Granville, NY. Over the years she had numerous jobs, two of which included working at Orvis and the Vermont Country Store. She cleaned people's homes and eventually became a caregiver – something she really took great pride in and enjoyed. She was a Cub Scout leader, 4H leader, as well as an active member of the Pawlet Church for many years. Linda loved country music – more the older country than this modern country- often singing along to the record or the radio. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and needlework. She loved to shop and tag sale. She loved spending time with her family, especially the cousin gatherings. She was always ready and willing to help others if she could, often going without herself if it meant she could help someone else. Linda is survived by her four children: daughter Sherril Ruane of Tinmouth, VT and her four sons Jeremy, Jeffrey, Nicholas and Patrick Evans all of Tinmouth, son Albert (Butch) Lulek and his wife Kathy of Pawlet, VT and their three sons and grandchildren, son David Lulek of Jamestown, KY and this daughter Courtney and son Tyler Lulek also of Jamestown and son Edward Lulek and wife Karen of Nancy, KY and their children. She is also survived by two sisters Judith Coolidge and her husband Alton (Buddy) of Pawlet, VT and Rebecca Hammond and her husband Albert of Hebron, NY, Aunt Gladys Corey, four nephews, many cousins and she was Sonia Bradley's Granny Grump. A celebration of Linda's life will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Robert M King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville, NY. Friends may call from 10 -11AM. At 11AM there will be a memorial service. Following the service, friends may gather and continue the celebration at the Pawlet Community Church. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in memory of Linda may do so to RAVNA (Rutland Area Visiting Nurses Association) POB 787, Rutland, VT 05701 in honor of their loving and compassionate care.
