Granville, NY - Jeffrey Michael (Mike) Martelle, age 60, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, September 22, 2024.

Jeffrey was born on July 30, 1964 in Proctor, Vermont the son of the late Ernest and Florence (VanBuren) Martelle.

He was a proud veteran, serving in the US Army from 1981-1987.

Mike spent many of his working years on one truck or another, having worked for Ultramar, Rutland Herald and Stewarts. Currently he was driving for Loomis Trucking. He was a hard worker.

He was a former fire chief in Wells, Vermont and very active in the fire service. He volunteered at the MWA.

Mike loved swimming and always took the opportunity to take a swim when he got home from work or spent time at the state park which he also enjoyed. Time spent with family and friends was his joy. He loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing and swimming. All activities he taught his children to love as well. His perfect day was a cookout at the state park with his family. Mike also loved riding his Harley.

Mike was predeceased by his parents, his son Ryan and a granddaughter Alexis E. Martelle. Survivors are his fiancé Kristi Waite, and his children: Jeffrey Martelle II (Alicia), Chelsea Martelle, and Chad Martelle, Conor Tougher. Kristi's children: Mitchell Brown, Corrine Penor, Adrienne Gilmore, and Brendan Printy. And he was blessed with seven grandchildren: Addison, Lucas, Logan, Jaelyn, Tatum, Amelia, Waylon and Olivia. He will be missed by his siblings Marlene Gretz (Chuck) Dale Detko, Diane "Lynn" Martelle (Charlie Marra), Ernie Martelle (Lynn) and William "Butch" Martelle (Lori).

A visitation will be held on Saturday October 5, 2024, at the Robert M King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville, NY from 2-5 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately after visitation hours at the VFW Pavilion 121 North Street, Granville, NY.
