Granville, NY - William (Bill) R. LaPoint, age 88 passed peacefully on Sunday, December 15th, 2024 surrounded by his family, after a short illness.

Bill was born on June 18th, 1936 in Ludlow, VT the son of the late Carlyle LaPoint and Irene Cutler.

On September 24th 1966, he married the love of his life, Audrey J (Hilder) LaPoint.

Bill loved family cookouts whether at home or at the lake. He enjoyed going to auctions and yard sales. Also fixing old bikes and giving them to children.

He will be missed by so many. Bill was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. He worked on many

farms throughout the years and as a laborer at some local quarries.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, his step mother Evelyn LaPoint, a brother Scott, a sister Barbara Lobdell and an infant son William Jr. and a granddaughter Breuna. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Audrey LaPoint, four daughters Barbara Rice of Troy, Alina Parker of Hudson Falls, Susan Potter (Royal) of Granville and Tina Capen of Rutland, VT, two sons Carl LaPoint (Hollie) of Whitehall and Timothy LaPoint of Granville. He was blessed with 23 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren. His brother Joe LaPoint, and two sisters Jean Mallon and Lois Comeau, all of Rutland, VT. as well as many nieces and nephews.
