?Granville, NY - Joanne Elizabeth Whitney, age 83, of Granville, NY, was ushered into her heavenly home on Sunday morning, January 5, 2025. Born September 23, 1941, in Saratoga, NY,

Joanne is the daughter of the late Leon and Phyllis {Brockway} Barber. She was the devoted wife of Gerald Whitney, the love of her life for 64 years; loving mother of Lisa (Bruce) Boulton of Virginia Beach, VA, Todd (Kelly) Whitney of Houston, TX, and Keith (Marlene) Whitney of Granville, NY; beloved grandmother of Amy (Kris) Brooks, Laura (Jay) Joines, Christina (Jared) Trainham, Candice (Luis) Reyes, Megan (Travis) Foshee, Melissa Hansen, Aren Hansen, Abbigail (Joe) Rafferty, Samantha Whitney, and Michael Whitney; loving great-grandmother of Ryan Brooks, Trevor Brooks, Grayson Joines, Tyler Joines, Finnegan Trainham, Oliver Trainham, Easton Foshee, Remi Fordley, Nehemiah Torres, Augustine Hansen, Gabriella Hansen, Michaela Rafferty, and Evelyn Rafferty. She is survived by siblings Jim Barber, Cathy Chapman, David Barber, and Bradley (Susan) Barber, and many nieces and nephews.

Joanne worked as a Dental Assistant and later as Records Administrator at Mallinckrodt, Argyle, NY, until her retirement. In addition to her full-time job and caring for her family, she enjoyed working as a Sales Consultant for Studio Girl Cosmetics, Mary Kay, and Creative Memories. Joanne adored her family and she prayed for and maintained contact with each of them. She loved learning and often spoke of the wonderful insights and inspirations she gained from her favorite authors and pastors. She delighted in making gifts for her family and friends, including tins of favorite Christmas cookies, crocheted blankets, kiln-fired ceramic home accessories, and beautiful scrapbooks, which her family treasures. Joanne was ready to be with the Lord and her loved ones who had gone before her. She has left an 83-year legacy of love for family and friends. She would want to remind us that this is not goodbye, but see you later.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at The Hartford Fire House , on the corner of Route 40 and Route 149 in Hartford New York. All are welcome.?
