Lonnie Joe Petty Granville, NY – Lonnie Joe Petty, age 51 passed away on February 7, 2017 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, NY. Lonnie was born on June 15, 1965 in Granville, NY the son of the Raymond C. and Josephine D. (Williams) Petty Sr. Lonnie was renowned throughout the area for his slate splitting abilities. He was employed by Newmont Slate in Pawlet, VT. Lonnie was fascinated with the internet and computer science. He was amazed with all that could be accomplished with this knowledge. Lonnie was fun loving and enjoyed playing tricks on his family and friends. He loved his children dearly, but his heart great a size larger with the birth of his grandson and the ability to love even more. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Lonnie was an animal lover. Lonnie was predeceased by his father Raymond Petty Sr. Survivors are his mother Josephine Petty, his wife Rhonda (Blackmer) Petty and his two children Lonnie Petty Jr and his fiancé Jamie Hughes and Heather Petty, all of Granville. His was blessed with one grandson Noah James Petty of Granville. Lonnie is also survived by his siblings Raymond C. Petty Jr., Rebecca Jameson and Mindy Stephan all of Hampton. Friends may call on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 5 - 7 PM at the funeral home.
