I am so sorry to hear of Mary's passing. She lived the good life with style and grace and true humility. I first met Mary in the South Granville Congregational Church. I loved the way she carried herself. I got to know Mary in depth when we took a writing class together at the Pember library. Our first writing study was poetry, I was looking for story writing and that section came later but I persevered through the class and found that I liked writing it as well. I was always blown away by her poems. To me they were real, deeply personal and had a very strong spiritual direction to them. She was so encouraging tome and I loved spending time with her. She was an amazing woman. When I moved from Granville, I lost touch with her but I would occasionally hear snippets of what was going on for Mary from a mutual church friend of mine, but I regret not ever going to see again. Godspeed Mary and my deepest sympathies to her family.
